Managing CSS across multiple Merchant Centers

Plan access, switch requests, supported markets and billing across the Merchant Centers your team actually uses.

By GMVLY · Updated

The key point

GMVLY accepts multiple Merchant Centers. Each account has its own switch request and verification; Self serve CSS is priced per verified Merchant Center, not per country.

Start with your current account structure

List the Merchant Center IDs, store names, websites, markets and people responsible for each account. Do not create a new account for every country just because you are considering CSS. Identify the existing accounts and targeting your business needs first.

An advanced or multi-client account can have a more complex switch scope. Confirm the structure with us before requesting changes; Google restricts partial switching between marketplace multi-client accounts. A parent account ID is not automatically interchangeable with a retailer sub-account ID.

  • Record each Merchant Center ID and the relevant website.
  • Identify the current CSS for each account.
  • Check whether the account belongs to an advanced or marketplace structure.

Check access before requesting the switch

Connect a Google account with direct admin access to each Merchant Center you want to switch. GMVLY checks the selected account’s admin access when accepting a request. Agency or manager access elsewhere does not replace that requirement.

If an account is missing from the selection or the website is not ready, resolve the access or account setup before continuing. Selecting an accessible Google Ads account is optional in the GMVLY request flow.

Send a request for each account

Choose the Merchant Center, select monthly or annual billing, authorise the switch and send the request. Repeat for the other accounts. GMVLY reviews them separately and verifies each CSS association before activation.

If you currently use another independent CSS, check its notice and exit terms. That provider-contract step does not apply when your current CSS is Google Shopping. Allow time for any Google approval or applicable switch grace period; we do not promise every structure switches on the same date.

Know what changes your subscription count

The Self-service plan is £15 monthly or £150 annually per verified Merchant Center, with applicable tax confirmed before activation. For illustration, three verified accounts on monthly billing have a £45 monthly subscription before applicable tax. Running those accounts in several supported countries does not multiply that count.

After requesting the switch, save your payment details. The initial 30-day trial starts only once the switch is verified, payment is ready and our team activates the subscription. Sending a request or saving a card does not start it.

Adding a verified Merchant Center to an existing subscription updates its account count rather than starting another trial. Subscription changes can involve proration; confirm the billing effect and a consistent plan with our team before adding accounts. Your team continues funding and managing its own campaigns.

Plan the countries you want to advertise in

Google’s CSS programme supports the 21 advertising markets below. These are supported markets, not an instruction to create 21 accounts. Country targeting, feed data, shipping and account setup still need to suit each market.

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Hungary
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Romania
  • Slovakia
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom

Keep managed activity a separate decision

Adding GMVLY Managed CSS alongside your existing campaigns is different from switching your own Merchant Centers to Self serve CSS. GMVLY funds and runs its managed route; your own activity and Self-service subscription remain separate.

Discuss managed catalogue scope, affiliate tracking and commission before launch. Do not approve a switch solely because you are exploring an additional funded campaign route.
